3 Questions: Artist & Curator in Conversation

1. Describe your working process?

I like to select a theme and explore that from several angles. Though the subject matter is recognizable, my paintings are all imagined.

2. What was your source of inspiration for your work in the exhibition? How did the act of art making help in reflecting and respond to the pandemic? 

As one whose art is concerned with the world at large, it was impossible to ignore the pandemic.

3.How do you think the visual arts helps us understand the complex world around us?

In terms of the knowledge we have of the world, we artists tend not to do primary research. However, we can put such knowledge in many artistic forms so as to elicit emotional reactions and revelations, thereby adding to understanding and meaning.
